STRUCTURAL AND MINOR CIVILS ENGINEER/TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN- REF NO: TDS1/2014 Salary: Negotiable

Requirements for the post:Bsc, B-Eng, B-tech, NDiploma in Civil Engineering plus 6 years or morepost qualification experience in buildings and associated minor civils and a valid Code B OR EB driving licence. Proficient in using/application Prokon, Civil Designer/Model Maker for minor roads geometric and Building Platforms designs will be anadvantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Be able to provide technical information on the principles and applications associated with detailing, draughting, some knowledge of structural designs and contract/project administration/management of engineering requirements for average complexity projects and associated minor civils.
  • The applicant must have some knowledge in preparing a project business plan and tender proposals.
  • Be able to apply principles and techniques associated with the development of technical detailing, draughting (using AutoCAD or other drawing packages) and some knowledge of designs in structural residential, commercial, public and industrial buildings and associated minor civils.
  • Be able to coordinate sequences associated with the preparation and collation of contract documentation and undertaking and reporting on tender/contractor evaluations.
  • Be able to implement and monitor minor, average and complex engineering projects.
  • Disseminates information on the technical aspects and provides reports detailing interventions and outcomes.
  • Be able to establish and execute/implement quality management control procedures, majors and templates.
  • Assist with the establishment and adherence to ISO 9001.Undertake all engineering projects from inception to Final Completion.
